Mid-July Update

Andromium is almost ready to go gold. I'm really excited about this since it's been far too long coming, and like all my other titles the feedback so far has been unanimously positive. Not bad for someone who only entered this industry less than a year ago.

So what have I learned since the release of Bonded Realities, also getting lots of praise? Well, there are two points that are relevant here:

- From the start, I knew the value of marketing. I did all I could, registering on Twitter, posting on NeoGAF, sending out press releases. I did get requests from many sites and was promised coverage, but a lot of that promised coverage never actually happened. So there's very little I can do in this regard, however I'm hoping I'll have improved contacts this time around to actually get a Red Crest game mentioned on a major site's front page for the first time!

- Boxart. I dropped the ball with the initial boxart for Bonded Realities, bigtime. Mostly because I'm not a real artist, but I did what I could. Immense thanks to Noogy for helping me save face with his very sexy redoing of an uncompleted draft of mine, that has remained on the marketplace ever since.
In terms of Andromium, I'm not making the same mistake and am forking out for a real artist to make something nice. And making something nice she is. I can't reveal anything just yet, but in my opinion it is the perfect mix of the "coolness" that a boxart needs, with the artistic nature that will help it stand out from other boxarts. It's definitely colourful, that's for sure.

Andromium is looking set to have a much easier time in terms of marketing than Bonded Realities did, the campaign is shaping up and when the time comes, I'll announce stuff like the release date, press releases, etc.

Look forward to it!
