A lot of effort went into this game. It's the first game that I started developing for Xbox LIVE Indie Games (Hyper Button was developed simultaneously, but was started much later). The soundtrack, the interface, the characterisation; everything in the game was carefully designed and polished. The result is, I hope, another top-notch RPG for the Indie service.
You can download the game now from the Xbox Marketplace website.

Bonded Realities Released to Xbox LIVE Indie Games
Red Crest Studios is proud to announce the release of Bonded Realities, a turn-based Role Playing game, to the Xbox LIVE Indie Games service for 80 Microsoft Points.
Bonded Realities follows the story of a young child who gets separated from his friends, family, even his own body, and indeed the world as he knows it. What happened? Why did it happen? Were your friends affected too? All of these questions are answered as the story unfolds in a twisted and funny style.
Within Bonded Realities is the essence of the much-loved and much-missed RPG gameplay from the 8- and 16-bit console era, but paired with great features such as a hectic soundtrack and a world full of ridiculous enemy designs.
"Your spare 80 Microsoft Points will buy you a complete package," says Michael Ventnor, founder of Red Crest Studios. "A polished RPG with a wacky story, smooth art direction, laughs and surprises galore."
Bonded Realities is available from the Indie Games section of the Xbox 360 Game Marketplace.
It can be queued for download onto your Xbox 360 right now at this link: http://marketplace.xbox.com/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550791
The initial teaser trailer is available for viewing on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts8UyUWX9ew or on GameTrailers at http://www.gametrailers.com/game/bonded-realities/14260 with both sites providing the option of 720p HD.

So far I am enjoying this game. It is too easy, however. Lots of loving detail went into this game, and it shows. You have done well. I will, without any doubt, buy your next title as well.
ReplyDeleteI would have gladly paid more money for this game.
Thank you for contributing to the 8-bit renaissance.
I love your game :) It is definitely one of my three favorite Indie RPGs so far.
ReplyDeleteI did find all the treasures, though I needed Oswald's hint to find the last one.
Anyway, definitely keep up the good work! Great game!!
Well done Tom! Perhaps you could be the one to write a GameFAQs walkthrough or record a Youtube Let's Play :-)

ReplyDeleteI have had time to think now since I played your awesome game, and now I can confidently say that Bonded Realities is my favorite RPG I've played so far on Indie by a wide margin, one of my favorite RPGs I've played period in recent years, and quite possibly my favorite Indie game so far. Its stylish graphics and great sense of humor are its best attributes.
ReplyDeleteSo you win the "Tom's most favoritest Indie game evvver" award, which gets you ... absolutely nothing :S Even before I made that decision I had already given your game five stars on Xbox Live and talked about it in the gaming forums where I live and made a YouTube video. But you do have my sincere thanks for an immensely enjoyable experience.
By the way, I'm really sorry I posted a spoiler in my last comment. I went ahead and deleted the comment. Here's the only halfway important part of the comment I deleted, a link to a GameFAQs thread with hard-to-find treasure chest info: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/620226-bonded-realities/57951767
